The Last Word

New Collection: Future Mod

For this Sunday’s Last Word, we take a look at the new season's collection, Future Mod.

When it first arrived in the 1960’s, the Mod movement was viewed as a progressive, forward looking movement capable of shaping the future, revitalising 60s men’s fashion in the process.

Carnaby Street was the hub of this new generation of style, where fine tailoring would effortlessly blend with sharp, sporty styles in a way never seen before. Fast forward to today, and the ideals of mixing tailoring with casual, sharp, sporty styles remains as relevant as ever. For Future Mod, we strike a similar balance between looking back at our heritage but keeping one eye on the future.

The Shoulder Detail Polo

The quintessential mod stripe is knitted over the shoulder and sleeve for this new polo piece creating a quality lightweight layer that will work all through the season.

The Printed Shirt

The printed shirt is a Mod fashion mainstay, and has been key to Ben Sherman collections from the very beginning. Taken from original 60’s artwork, the hand drawn polka dot and stripe give an authentic retro feel.

The Short Sleeved Shirt

Contrary to common conception, short sleeve shirts have a place in your year round looks, acting as a great layering piece as the weather takes a turn for the cooler. This short sleeved shirt is a stand out piece in the Future Mod collection. Cut from classic Oxford cloth the sporty blocking panels around the armhole take this piece from everyday to something special.

Wear any of the Future Mod collection with a cropped leg version of a formal trouser. Paying close attention to the leg length and fit will make for a modern pairing.
