The Last Word

The 5 Piece Work Wardrobe

The days of having to wear a suit to work everyday are thankfully long gone, giving you the chance to dress up or dress down as appropriate. While this is a good thing, the pressure to pull together a work appropriate outfit each day can get a bit much for the best of us.

Would you believe us if we told you, you could make five distinctly different yet equally smart looks for every day of the working week with just five garments? Read on with this week’s Last Word to get your workwear buttoned down.

Carnaby Street was the hub of this new generation of style, where fine tailoring would effortlessly blend with sharp, sporty styles in a way never seen before. Fast forward to today, and the ideals of mixing tailoring with casual, sharp, sporty styles remains as relevant as ever. For Future Mod, we strike a similar balance between looking back at our heritage but keeping one eye on the future.

Monday

Volley the week out of the park on day one with our sophisticated take on the classic two piece suit. This perfect combination of shirt, shoes, jacket, trousers and tie will ensure you’re the king of your commute. The two-piece suit is the perfect men’s business attire.

Tuesday

You went in large on day one for that big meeting, so let’s cool it off a little for a slightly more relaxed Tuesday. That doesn’t mean however, the suit is being kicked to the curb. Put the shirt and tie to one side and swap for our casual knitted polo shirt, buttoned all the way up of course, to give the finance team a little glimpse of your Mod sensibilities.

Wednesday

Congratulations, half the week is done, and it’s all downhill from here. By this point your blazer is becoming your best friend, but it needs a little switch up to keep you both interested through the rest of the week. Team yours with a classic Ben Sherman Oxford button down shirt, rinse wash jeans and brogues for the ultimate men’s business casual look that will work just as well in a boardroom meeting as it will a coffee shop catchup.

Thursday

Remember that polo and trousers combo from Tuesday? Looked great didn’t it? Give the blazer the day off and pair your knitted polo and suit trousers with our smart suede trainers to nail the laidback but ready for business look.

Friday

While Friday morning may be full of thoughts of the post work pint, there’s still a day’s work to get through first. Anything can be thrown your way, so you need to keep it professional. Our Oxford Shirt shows the office that even though it’s Friday, you’re still ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, while our rinse wash jeans and suede trainers will help you make that transition into the weekend with minimal fuss.
